Send me a message if you want to buy one, runners!
BIC Bands is a great company- here is a little bit of background information from owner/founder Sandy from their website:
"These amazing headbands started all as a fundraiser for my run with Team In Training. I was looking for a way to raise the necessary funds to run my first half marathon. I had started to make some handy dandy headband that didn't slip because I was cheap and crafty~ friends said they'd buy them, so I decided to try my hand at making and selling them. My small little venture began and I started sewing. I donated the profits to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society....Because B.I.C. Bands were been such a hit after my race, I decided to keep making and selling the bands, and keep giving back to those in need!
From the beginning days of making B.I.C. Bands for my run with Team In Training, giving back has been at the heart of the business. Each month we donate from the sale of every band to a different charity. Check out the facebook page to see who we're helping this month!
These bands don't slip- SERIOUSLY!!! The magic lining of these little guys stick to your hair. And as an added bonus~ they're soft and stretchy, working hard to not give you a headache
YES! B.I.C. Bands are washable. It's recommended that you hand wash it. Or, you can wear it straight into the shower after your workout! Rinse it out and hang it up to dry!

I have BIC Bands in my own collection in all different sizes- thick, thin, skinny, and minnie; I'm wearing a minnie in the below picture.
The "minnies" are my new favorite BIC bands. I only have a couple, but I am reaching for the minnies more frequently than the others when heading out for a run (and if you read my Race Gear post, you know that I can't run without a BIC Band!) I'm grabbing the minnies for no particular reason- they all work the same, but I am especially liking the look of the minnies lately!
And I hope you are liking them too, as Sandy from BIC Bands was nice enough to give me two extra minnies to give away to one of you!
One is a sparkly minnie in light blue and the other is a striped pink/black/green one.
So how do you win? Comment here on the blog and tell me two things:
1) Tell me about another blog that you read (it doesn't have to be fitness related, but I'd love hear about those of course!)
2) Tell me where will you wear your new minnie BIC Bands if you win- a run? a barre class? a walk with the pup?
The winner will be chosen by random drawing a week from today. Post away!
One of my favorite non-fitness blogs is Cake Wrecks. It never ceases to amaze me how bakeries can get orders oh so wrong. And I love how they feature magnificent cakes on Sunday. Those are amazing!
ReplyDeleteI'd wear my minnie while out for a run. My hair is in that awkward growing out stage so I get stray pieces that don't stay back and keep falling in my face. A minnie would help me avoid that.
Thanks for the chance to win!
Thanks for commenting Michelle, and thanks for the blog recommendation, this one sounds so fun! Looking forward to checking it out.
Delete1. I love "More than Just Dessert" my friend Emily is a new professor and its amazing to me that people not that much younger than us are learning from her!
ReplyDelete2. I'd wear them while teaching yoga sculpt. I'm growing my hair out to donate, and I need my hair totally off my face!
How awesome that you teach yoga sculpt! That must be a lot of fun- to get paid to work out :-)
DeleteI will check out "More than Just Dessert"- very cool!
I love THIS blog! Vizslas and running? What's not to love!? But I also follow It's A Vizsla Thing, EatLiveRun, and the Oiselle blog-- some of my faves.
ReplyDeleteBesides out for runs, I would most likely wear a minnie while at school and/or while coaching Track Practice. :)
Thanks for posting a giveaway post! And, keep up the great work with your blog! :)
Thanks so much Katie!
DeleteYes, I have been a long time reader of "Its a Vizsla Thing" - I wish she would post more! I need to check out Oiselle's blog, great recommendations.
Sounds like you have lots of opportunities to sport some minnie BIC bands! :)
I love Iowa Girl Eats! So many delicious yet simple recipes on her blog.
ReplyDeleteI would definitely wear mine while out running/walking!
I LOVE Iowa Girl Eats....her recipes are always great. I just made her Cookies & Cream no bake bars and they were so easy and tasty... http://iowagirleats.com/2014/08/27/cookies-and-cream-no-bake-chex-bars/
ReplyDeleteI am sure you'll be wearing your minnies for your half marathon training!
I love to read Chocolate Covered Katie's blog - all of her desserts and are so good and whenever I have made them myself or for others, no one ever guesses they are "healthy" desserts. My go-to favorite is deep dish cookie pie!
ReplyDeleteAlso, despite the fact that I've seen you rave about BIC bands on your blog for a while now, I have yet to ever get any myself, but if I did I would definitely sport them running and perhaps even try them as a hair accessory to work in my classroom!
Great to hear from you Ali!
DeleteOh my gosh, this blog sounds phenomenal- I am excited to check it out. I wear my Minnies for more than just working out too :)
I also LOVE a good dessert blog (looks like I'm not the only one!), especially during marathon training when I feel like I actually deserve to eat the recipes they post! My current favorite is Sally's Baking Addiction - everything she posts looks SO good and there are some much-appreciated healthy ingredient swaps also.
ReplyDeleteI would love to try out a BIC band on a long run, as I have yet to find a headband I can really stand for 20+ miles without getting a headache. Still working on completing my perfect marathon outfit and this might be a perfect addition!
The perfect marathon outfit is a big deal- good luck!
DeleteI am loving all these great dessert blog recommendations :) Thank you Rita!
One blog I like to check in on periodically is Daily Cup of Yoga. It gives me inspiration for new poses to try and motivation to get back on my mat.
ReplyDeleteI currently use big Urban Halo headbands while I run and my husband says they look "sloppy". I would LOVE to try a mini BIC band during the last few weeks of training for the Monster Dash half marathon, in hopes that they look as adorable on me as they do on you, and work just as well as the ones I currently use.
Thanks for the recommendation Kathryn, this blog sounds unique. I will check it out.
DeleteI like the Halo headbands too, but they don't always stay in place for me. Good luck in the last few weeks of your training for the Monster Dash. That is always a fun race!
I read both Peanut Butter Runner and Brown Eyed Baker a lot. I have never tried the BIC bands so would try for all my workouts!
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting! I read Peanut Butteer Runner too- her dog is adorable :-)
DeleteI will have to check out Brown Eyed Baker though. Good luck in the drawing, it closes next Monday!
I read The Hungry Runner Girl. She's great! I would wear my Bic Bands on my runs. I training for the Chicago Marathon and these would be great for my flyaway hairs :-)
ReplyDeleteGood luck at Chicago in a few weeks!
DeleteI also read the Hungry Runner Girl, though sometimes its hard to relate to all the free time she seems to have :-) But I love her positivity and she sure is speedy!
