I have heard a lot about the book "Run Less, Run Faster." I have a few friends in the run club who went from 4 hour marathoners to close to 3:40 marathoners in just a year, and they have told me that they followed a lot of what is explained in this book.
I'm not sure I'm going to follow the program, as I plan to follow our CBRC schedule. I also enjoy the "junk miles" that this book says you need to eliminate, (i.e. Run less, run faster). I enjoy the easy runs with Matilda, and I like the runs where you just enjoy the company. And I like seeing high mileage weeks in my journal. I already know that this book focuses more on the quality of the workout versus the quantity, and I'm sure there's a lot of validity in that theory. I'm just not sure yet if it's the right program for me. But I want to read the book to make that decision myself!
I'm not writing it off completely ahead of time. Rather, I have heard that there is a lot of good information in this book. And as part of operation Get Faster, I figured I could benefit from a lot of good information! I plan to share my learnings with you all...if I ever get the book!
I ordered a copy a few weeks ago, and was excited to open my package from Runner's World today...only to find this book instead!
And yet my invoice said that I should have received "Run Less, Run Faster."
I'm sure "Run Your Butt Off" is a great book, but it's really for beginners. I never claim to be an expert, but I have run 13 marathons. I'm not sure I'm considered a beginner anymore! And the focus of this book is really weight loss, with a "couch-to-5k" focus. I will skim the book to see if there's anything pertinent, but I have also contacted the company to figure out how to get the right book!
Failed Fit at this point!
