This past weekend, my sister-in-law and her boyfriend came to visit for the holiday. In an attempt to enjoy one last hurrah of summer, we planned a weekend of festivals and other outdoor activities. Unfortunately, the weather did not want to cooperate and the most recent hurricane/tropical depression sat over KCMO Friday and Saturday. A night out downtown on Friday turned into one stop to stay dry. And, festival number one for the weekend was a wash (literally). I wasn't able to wear my cute summer festival dress (courtesy of Cool J) and instead wore a drab rain coat and quick dry shorts the entire day - a failed fit.
It might not have been the cutest festival outfit I have ever worn, but it definitely did the job and kept me warm. And we were still able to find some good purchases for bargain deals!
