Favorite Fit: Perfect Fall Blazers

By LL

It's LL again, blogging from KC as Jess explores Berlin. And, I'm here to discuss my all-time favorite fit - the BLAZER. No matter the season or the occasion, you really cannot go wrong with a blazer. It is classy enough for work, dressy enough for a date night, yet casual enough for a day at the farmers market. Here are a few of my recommendations for the perfect fall blazer.

1. J.Crew Schoolboy Blazer in Tipped Wool $228
2. JC Penny Two-Button Nautical Blazer $35.99
3. H&M Faux Leather Sleeve Jacket $39.99
4. J.Crew Schoolboy Blazer in Wool Flannel $198
5. Madewell Tailored Blazer in Chambray $89.50
6. Modcloth Takes Two to Tangerine $47.99
7. Banana Republic Textured Blazer $150

Running short of ideas how to create the perfect look with a blazer? Here are a few simple suggestions for inspiration.

Favorite Fit: Pop of Color Blazers

By LL in KC

As you learned last week, I am all about unsuspecting color combinations. And as you have know all along on this blog, I LOVE blazers. They just work in so many different ways. So I wanted to share with you some of the awesome pop of color blazers that I have stumbled across recently and am seriously contemplating buying! But at these prices, they definitely fit the bill this spring.

{Buy it here - for $79.95}

{Buy it here - for $89.50}

{Buy it here - for $34.99}

{Buy it here - for $52}

{Buy it here - $34.80}

{Buy it here - for $27.80}

{Buy it here - for $115}

{Buy it here - for $89.50}

I know that this spring for me is turning into the spring of mint and colbalt blue, so you know that I will be struggling as to which of these I decide to buy. The mint will look perfect over corals, purples and yellows, whereas the blue will pair nicely with my reds, yellows and greens.

Favorite Fit: Fitted Blazers

By: LL
As evidenced by this and this, one of my favorite fits is a nice, fitted blazer. Even though you wouldn't know it from my posts, I have A LOT of blazers in multiple colors. This is partially due to my work dress code, but also because I think that a well-fitted blazer can be the right fit in so many different contexts. It is work appropriate with trousers or a pencil skirt; works great with jeans for a casual afternoon; and, always looks good over a little dress on chilly nights out. As you will soon see, fitted blazers are staples to my wardrobe - along with scarves and knee-high boots.

This is what I wore to meet some friends out for a casual dinner last weekend.

(I am also beginning to notice that I wear my Threads for Thought t-shirts all the time as well!)

Throwing a Fit: Houndstooth Blazers

By: LL
Even though it doesn't feel like fall in the Mid-South, the autumnal equinox is this Friday, so it is completely appropriate for me to be "throwing a fit" about houndstooth blazers. Like these:

A nice fitted blazer is a staple for any fall wardrobe, and depending on the cut and pattern, they normally transcend time. This fall, the houndstooth blazer, as seen here by Brooks Brothers or here by J.Crew, is a great classic piece that can be dressed up with a blouse and trousers for a work look, or dressed down with a t-shirt and a pair of dark denim jeans. A blazer is also good for the layering look, which I am always a fan of for fall. Now if only it would get colder in the Mid-South...
